Positivity is something that we can all benefit from. With work, education, family, social life, hobbies and more we can easily find ourselves over-scheduled and stressed. Here are 3 ways to stay more positive during your busy day.
Don’t Let Your Mind Wander
One of the many ways we create anxiety as humans is by dwelling in the past or worrying about the future. It is difficult at times to turn off this “monkey brain” we all tend to have but it is definitely doable. A great approach is take a focus point like your breath or a sound in your environment and shift your awareness to it. Every time a feeling or thought arises, simply return back to the focal point. You’ll find yourself more focused and feeling better by doing this through out your day. It is essentially taking the core of meditation but applying it in little ways as your do your daily tasks.
“As you think so shall you become” is a famous quote which has a deep root in all of us. Your mindset and what you think about regularly shapes you into who you are. If you tend to think about negative things, worse case scenarios, and alike then it isn’t surprising that you may not normally feel well. When you are going about your day, try using affirmations or mantras. These are short phrases that can instantly boost your positive energy, here are some examples:
- I am happy
- I am healthy
- I am wealthy
- I love life
- I am productive
- My day is going great
They don’t have to be long or descriptive as long as they are good in nature and make you feel better. Repeat them as much as you like in your head or chant them out loud when appropriate.
Think About What Your Grateful For
It’s easy to get caught up in what we don’t have. This can be related to our financial standing, relationship status, and just about anything in life. Instead of dwelling on what you lack, focus on what you do have. There are many things we take for granted like our health, friends, and family. Be grateful for these things because many people do not have them. When you take the time to be happy about what you have, you’ll shift your mindset to a much more positive one.
